Clarence Goodson
Player Relations Manager
Clarence Goodson serves a Player Relations Consultant for the MLSPA. His role includes supporting and advocating for the player pool on a wide variety of issues. He focuses on engaging “capped” players while also assisting with the broader player relations communication with all players.
Clarence played professional soccer from 2004-2016 for FC Dallas, IK Start (Norway), Brondby (Denmark), San Jose Earthquakes and the US Men’s National Team. During part of that time he served as a team Captain for Brondby, a MLSPA Team Representative for the San Jose Earthquakes and as an Executive Board member for the US Men’s National Team.
In addition to Clarence’s work within soccer, he has been active in the local community working with many non-profits and those seeking socio-economic change for the underserved. In September 2017, he opened the Clarence Goodson IV Field in his hometown of Springfield, VA in partnership with the US Soccer Foundation.
