Pat Onstad was elected to the MLSPA Executive Board in 2007 where he served for three years.
Pat played 25 years of professional soccer as a goalkeeper from 1987-2011. He spent 11 seasons in MLS, playing for the San Jose Earthquakes, Houston Dynamo and D.C. United. Prior to his professional career, Pat played college soccer for the University of British Columbia.
Pat also made 57 appearances for the Canadian men’s national team from 1988-2010. In 2015, he was inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame.
Following his retirement, Pat served as an assistant coach for D.C. United and a chief scout for Toronto FC. He currently is an assistant coach for Columbus Crew.
