Landon Donovan was one of the founding members of the original MLSPA executive board where he served for 11 years.
Landon started his MLS career as a member of the San Jose Earthquakes for four seasons before he began his nine-year tenure with LA Galaxy. He has won a record six MLS Cups and is both the league’s all-time scoring and assists leader.
Landon also enjoyed tremendous success during his time on the United States men’s national team. For the U.S., he is the all-time leader in assists and is tied for first in goals scored. In 2010, he led the U.S. to their first World Cup group stage birth since 1930.
After a brief retirement stint in which he served as a color commentator for FOX Sports, Landon returned to the pitch in January 2018 to play for Club León of Mexico’s Liga MX.
