Jay Heaps was appointed to the MLSPA Executive Board in 2005 where he served for one year.
Jay spent 11 seasons in MLS from 1999-2009. He initially played for the Miami Fusion before he began his tenure with the New England Revolution. In 1999, Jay was named MLS Rookie of the Year. Prior to his professional career, he play college soccer for Duke University.
Jay also made four appearances for the United States men’s national team in 2009.
Following his retirement, Jay worked for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management before serving as head coach for the New England Revolution for six seasons. Currently, he is the president and general manager of the 2019 USL expansion team Birmingham Legion FC.
