Lara Riddell

Senior Counsel

Lara Riddell serves as Staff Counsel for the MLSPA. Her role involves assisting the players with understanding and enforcing their rights as well as monitoring and correcting any agreements and activities that relate to CBA entitlements.

Prior to joining the MLSPA, Lara worked as an NCAA Athletic Compliance Intern at Georgetown University’s athletic department, checking for excessive practice hours and informing student athletes about how to best preserve and protect their eligibility. From 2013 to 2015, Lara served as a Law Clerk for the MLSPA, assisting Staff Counsel with the enforcement of current CBA provisions and preparations for the new CBA negotiations. While completing her law degree at American University she also volunteered as a tax preparer helping low-income taxpayers maximize their annual refund at the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and as student attorney for the Janet R. Spragens Federal Tax Clinic.

A native of Cologne, Germany, Lara moved to Washington D.C. in 2000 and speaks both German and English fluently, with elementary proficiency in French.
