William Hesmer was appointed to the MLSPA Executive Board in 2010 where he served for three years.

William spent nine seasons in MLS as a goalkeeper, playing for the Kansas City Wizards and Columbus Crew from 2004-2012. He won an MLS Cup with Columbus in 2008. Prior to his professional career, William played college soccer for Wake Forest University.

Following his retirement, Hesmer graduated from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business and later obtained a second degree from the Yale School of Management. Currently, he is a certified financial planner at Hesmer Wealth Management of Raymond James.
